Minimal Corsetry – more thoughts

I should also say that minimal corsetry (with as few panels/seams as possible) isn’t automatically difficult, but it’s a question of doing it in a certain way. For me, anyhow. I would want to do something less like Elizabethan stays (which historically could be only one panel or two) and more like an Edwardian piece with its swooping lines and generously curved silhouette. Attempting to get the properties of one to appear like the other might be an interesting challenge.

Beyond that, it would need to have a contemporary and couture edge too, and be comfortable to wear and swift to make. Though, once I had incorporated support to help make up for the reduction in seams/shaping, it could indeed prove more time-consuming than even a Birds Wing…
