Never begin a horsey correspondence with me on email… It turns out I’m incapable of writing short emails! I’m so thrilled to have horsey friends these days though. Both online and off. All with their different experience, knowledge, and points of view. As I’ve said many times I love learning. So this is ideal for me.
I’m off home on Friday! Busy the rest of the week before then. Had meant for today to be a catch-up studio day, but I now think I might have to be here tomorrow for a delivery. Which isn’t ideal, I wanted to do the stables as usual. Will scheme.
I’m already feeling mildly stressed about being away! It’ll be fine once I’m on the train as I’m not the sort of person to feel guilty or dwell on things. But being out of the studio can create that feeling of, “I should be working!” Whilst being away for my usual volunteering days makes me feel bad for the people covering my workload. And the ponies, it’s always nice for them to have a regular structure, familiar faces. And my CatFace! He’ll be in a strop with me by the time I get back. But it’s all fine really and I’m looking forward to the break.
Went to Kings Heath Horse Show yesterday. Saw a big variety of beast. Big variety of everything! Tack, schooling, riding, general attitude and approach to life, haha. Overall lovely though and our girls and ponies did very well. Everyone rode nicely (gentle, calm, and effective), the ponies boxed well and all had brilliant manners in the fun in-hand classes too. Saw a Friesian (my goodness, he was a beautiful and gentle young lad), plus one of the fanciest gypsy cobs ever. The pony’s movement wasn’t brilliant but that mane and tail, my goodness.
Saturday was stables as usual. One of our instructors is now away all summer (three months) which I’m sad about. And another of my stables friends is away for a month just after I return from home, so more sad times! But many more lovely horsey people down there, so it’s all good.
Anyway, thought I’d share a couple of pics from one of our recent shoots. This was the Blossom corset for one of our Australian clients. I imagined it on wide open sandy spaces, but we don’t have much of that in central Birmingham. So instead, we searched out some foliage, which I think has worked pretty well. Hannah Robinson is modelling, I took photos, and Holly assisted once again.
Right, that is me almost done for the day. I was about to walk home, but the rain has started again. Might stay late (as is usual for a Tuesday) instead. I am now officially meant to be on holiday, so I will see you on the other side! There will be scheduled posts on the facebook page and non-worky posts on my Instagram. Oh, and I received my provisional driving licence today, so I might try to convince my mum to let me terrify her when I’m at home.
